Platform Features

A complete ticketing platform designed for the specific operational demands of film festivals — multi-venue programming, session-based scheduling, assigned seating with custom cinema layouts, and infrastructure to handle concentrated bursts of demand.

Selling & offers

Passes, Memberships and Gift Cards

Offer festival passes, memberships, bundles, and gift cards with flexible pricing and redemption rules.

Passes can also be used as promotional codes for partners, sponsors, and special campaigns, helping grow ticket sales while keeping every offer under your control.

Sales That Stay Inside Your Festival

Sell through your own domain, embed ticketing into your existing website and let guests buy without creating an account. Use the same inventory online and at the box office.

Local Payment Methods, Built In

Attendees pay the way they already do at home, with iDEAL in the Netherlands, Bancontact in Belgium, TWINT and PostFinance in Switzerland, and Klarna and SEPA Direct Debit across the EU — alongside cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.

Datatrans is our preferred acquirer, and PostFinance and PayPal run there alone. Cards, SEPA Direct Debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, iDEAL, Bancontact and TWINT run on either acquirer, and festivals can use both. Nordic methods — Swish in Sweden, Vipps in Norway, MobilePay in Denmark and Finland — are offered by both acquirers and enabled for your market on request.

Volunteers hand printed badges and programmes to guests at a festival accreditation desk.

Guests & access

Held Seats That Stay Under Control

Hold seats for press, jury, guests, accessibility or sponsors. Control who can release them, then return unused seats to sale.

Accreditation, Guests, Comps and Presale

Upload guest lists, send personal invitations, and offer early screening access. Resend or revoke invitations and record complimentary tickets.

Roles That Match Your Festival Team

Create your own roles and decide exactly what each person can see or change, including where they can sell, how long they have access, and whether two-factor authentication is required.

An audience settles into a historic cinema auditorium before a screening.

At the venue

A Box Office That Closes Properly

Open each till with a counted float, record cash and item movements during the day and reconcile at closing. Refunds, comps, vouchers and merchandise stay correctly recorded in the shift reports.

Fast Entry with Gatekeeper

Speed up admission with reliable ticket scanning that keeps queues moving. Gatekeeper works offline, so your team can continue checking in attendees even if connectivity drops.

Reliable When It Matters Most

Stable under peak demand, easy to operate, and designed to keep your team focused on the festival instead of the ticketing system.

Pricing

Pricing built for film festival complexity

Film festivals don’t operate like standard events, so SurgeTix isn’t sold like a generic ticketing package.

Commercial terms depend on your edition, venue setup, rollout needs, and support requirements.

  • No long-term lock-in.
  • No hidden platform fees.
  • Free tickets, accreditation, and comps carry zero platform fees.

Your Path to Launch

01

Set Up Payments

Choose the acquirer that settles your ticket revenue — we recommend signing with Datatrans. This comes first for a reason: merchant onboarding carries a lead time nobody controls, and nothing goes on sale until it clears.

02

Build Your Webstore

Keep the CMS you already run and drop our checkout into it — the integration is a small job. Or let us build and host your webstore for free, and we make sure it works on every device your audience actually turns up with.

03

Pricing and Passes

Set prices by screening, venue or category, then build festival passes, day tickets and bundles on top — with the eligibility rules and quotas that decide who can book what, and how much of it.

04

Upload Your Programme

Send your line-up in whatever format you already keep it — a spreadsheet, a PDF, an export from the system you use today. We map it into the platform, so nobody on your team retypes a screening.

05

Bring Your Team On

Open accounts for box office, front of house and programming staff, each seeing only what their role needs. You add and revoke that access yourself, at any point.

06

Go Live

Launch your ticket drop with our engineering team on real-time standby to ensure absolute perfection.
